TennisConnect Web Site Builder Overview
This article will explain web site builder options independently of the TCOEditor, which is used in many places throughout TennisConnect.

The TennisConnect web site builder provides a simple point-and-click way to build a web site and maintain it yourself.  While we were not able to simplify every feature of a web site into a simple point & click interface, you will find there is much to choose from including standard (free) capabilities such as:

  • Ability to customize the site header and browser background
  • Choose from any of our "stock" header banners, update your text, or upload your own
  • Choose between Horizontal navigation menus or Vertical navigation menus
  • Create as many pages as you wish, start with our free templates / layouts or create your own
  • Page content features allow you to upload images, videos, insert hyperlinks, and choose content from our Pick & Click library

Customers requiring advanced features such as custom menus (cascading / drop down) or complete theme modification will require some technical assistance.  Your local web designer may use our Theme Manager to completely tailor the look and feel of your web site.  Please contact us at 843-686-3036 XT 227 or visit the Project Board if you need a referral to a designer who can help you.

==============================

Web site builder basics.  There are only a few things you need to know:
  1. Site Layout:  The site layout and spacing / border colors etc come from Basic Settings | Web Site Settings - Option #2 - Site Layout.  You control your preferences here.  You can play around with them to see what they do.  Make a change, save your changes, go to "View Consumer Site" to see the effect of your changes.

    Site Theme:
      The colors of the browser background, navigation area menu foreground text and background color(s) come from Basic Settings | Web Site Builder - Option # 3 - Set Site Themes & Color Schemes.  There are 17 "pre-fabricated" schemes to choose from.

    Custom Header:
      The header (also known as the banner) runs horizontally across every page on your web site.  Since it is repeated on every page, the site header should not be too tall.  It is a good place to put the name of your business or organization.  There are several headers to choose from or you may upload / create your own.  To use our standard starting points, please see the Banners section of the Pick & Click Editor.

  2. System generated pages:  Your TennisConnect powered web site has several "system generated pages".  These are usually the interactive forms like the "Contact Us" form, or system generated Google Map, eCalendar, Court Scheduler, etc.

    You can turn these on or off by visiting Basic Settings | Web Site Settings - Option #8 - Navigation Settings.  Simpl.y uncheck the box if you do not want the system generated page to appear.  NOTE:  un-checking the box does not make the page unavailable, it simply removes it from the menu.  This allows you to customize your site navigation and remove the TennisConnect menu choices.

    If you have questions about where something comes from on your consumer site, please see the wiring diagram (everything that appears on your consumer site is comes from a setting that you control in TennisConnect)

  3. User defined pages:  Are created under the Web Page Editor menu.  You may add as many pages as you need.  You can re-sequence the order of the pages, make them "members only" (must be a registered user logged in to see the page) or "hidden" (hides it from the menu but it is still available).
