Deleting recurring events
Deleting individual events is easy and straightforward from the calendar or the list / edit events view.  (Here's how)

Tip:
  • Usually you only want to delete an event that is made in error, or to exclude a particular date from a recurring event (if a class meets every Thursday but not on Thanksgiving, you would want to delete the Thanksgiving day occurrence)
  • There is a danger in deleting *real* events.  Since events are web pages and are SEO (Search Engine Optimized) you could cause broken links back to your web site, and if the event had enrollments you would be creating broken links back to your participation history.
  • Consider that it might be better to edit the event and assign it to a "canceled" category, or simply remove the event from appearing on your calendar (Edit Event and uncheck the box for "Show on web site")

To delete a whole block of events though you need to first go to the recurring events menu - then you can delete "en masse" anything that was booked as a recurring block.

Go to Calendar | Admin Menu | Option # 4 - Events and choose Recurring events.

This will give you a list of all your recurring events.  Note that the list is sortable by column heading (click the column heading to alternate between ascending and descending).

To delete an entire block, click "delete" in the right hand column.  To delete individual instances of a recurring block, open the block by clicking on the "First Event Date".  That will open up a list of each individual event where you can choose which dates to delete.
